La Banca centrale in Malesia taglia ancora i tassi per fronteggiare l'impatto del Covid-19. In linea con la politica di sostegno all'economia portata avanti dalle autorità malesi, la Bank Negara Malaysia ha tagliato ancora il tasso di riferimento. L'evidente intento è quello di garantire la stabilità macroeconomica del Paese, in un contesto regionale duramente colpito dalle conseguenze socioeconomiche della pandemia. Lo riporta Bloomberg.

Top Glove punta sull’automazione. Per sopperire alla carenza di manodopera e allo stesso tempo soddisfare la crescente richiesta di propri prodotti, la società malese leader mondiale nella produzione di guanti chirurgici investirà 700 milioni di dollari per modernizzare i suoi impianti di produzione e ridurre la dipendenza dai lavoratori immigrati. Nikkei Asian Review ricorda che Top Glove ha visto crescere esponenzialmente la domanda dall’inizio della pandemia.

Il successo dell’HLD 2020. Si è tenuto ieri online, l’High Level Dialogue 2020 sulle relazioni economiche tra Italia e ASEAN, un round-table digitale in sostituzione dell’evento fisico che si sarebbe dovuto svolgere a Kuala Lumpur, in Malesia. Sono intervenuti, tra gli altri, il Presidente dell’Associazione Italia-ASEAN Enrico Letta, il Sottosegretario di Stato al Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, Manlio di Stefano e il Segretario Generale dell’ASEAN, Dato Lim Jock Hoi. BANGKOK -- The Thai government has decided to keep the kingdom under a state of coronavirus emergency until July 31 despite having recorded no local transmission for over a month.

Non si arrestano le grandi opere in Malesia. Il Primo ministro Muhyiddin Yassin ha rassicurato che non si arresteranno i grandi progetti che non richiedono ulteriori finanziamenti dal Governo, come il progetto East Coast Rail Link e la Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail. Non fermare le grandi opere rientra nella strategia del Governo per far ripartire l’economia dopo mesi di stagnazione causa Covid-19.

Vietnam-Malesia: colloquio telefonico tra premier, focus su cooperazione bilaterale e ASEAN. Il Primo Ministro vietnamita Nguyen Xuan Phuc e l'omologo malese Muhyiddin Yassin hanno avuto ieri un colloquio telefonico incentrato su questioni regionali e internazionali di comune interesse nel contesto della pandemia. I due leader hanno convenuto di rafforzare ulteriormente le relazioni bilaterali attraverso scambi commerciali e meccanismi di cooperazione.

The two leaders agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations through trade and cooperation mechanisms.

Foreign financiers will also participate in the deal, considered one of the largest investments in recent years.

A group of investors led by the American fund KKR paid 650 million dollars for a stake in the real estate arm of the largest Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup. KKR representatives stated that they, together with other investors, including the Singapore Temasek state investment fund, have acquired 6% of Vinhomes, Vingroup's real estate division. Vietnam thus confirms itself as one of the major beneficiaries of the diversification that many companies are pursuing in this uncertain environment.
